Our coaches are USSF and AYSO licensed and have access to professional training materials to ensure our club provides top quality soccer training. In addition to these licenses, every head coach in our club has the TOVO V1 certification. TOVO is widely recognized as the industry leader in possession-based training.


Coach Michael Blair has been coaching club soccer since 2007.  Since returning to Flagstaff from Phoenix, he has been coaching for Flagstaff Revolution since 2012 in addition to his role as the Girls' Varsity Coach at Northland Preparatory Academy (NPA) where he has been since 2014. NPA has competed in 6 Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) state high school championships winning 4 straight from 2017-2020 and finishing as state runners up in 2014 and 2021. He holds a National United State Soccer Federation (USSF) C License. Awards include the 2021 National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Arizona Girls Soccer Coach of the Year, 2-time AIA 2A Conference Coach of the Year, and 4-time AIA Central Region Coach of the Year. He has coached numerous girl's teams across the U8-U19 age groups. His 2002 AYSO Girls team finished in 3rd place in the 2021 Arizona State Cup Championships. He has numerous former players playing in college.

He currently coaches our 2009 Girls team.



Coach Kirk Kinsey has coached for Flagstaff Revolution since 2019 and has served as a director for the club since then. As Technical Director, he designed the Club's curriculum and coach training materials. He holds both an MBA and a MS in Applied Exercise Science. Coaching certifications: USSF D License, TOVO V1 and TOVO 7 A Side Diplomas, Coerver Youth Diploma I and II, . His 2010 Boys won the 2021 Christmas Angel Salvation Army tournament. His 2012 Boys won the 2022 Yavapai Cup as well as the 2022 Northern Arizona Invitational. High school level player, 9 years experience as a referee.

He currently coaches our 2010 Boys and 2012 Boys teams.



Coach Derrick Jackson grew up playing soccer from the age of 5, competing through high school and eventually at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS. His favorite soccer memory is playing in the Gothia Gup in Gothenburg, Sweden while in high school. He holds a US Soccer Grassroots 9v9 license. Coach Jackson's 2012 Boys won the 2022 Yavapai Cup.

He currently coaches our 2012 Boys.



Vanessa grew up in Southern California and played soccer from the age of 12 through high school, primarily as left-center defender. She started coaching youth soccer in 2019 for the Rayados Vallarta Sur 2007-2009 girls team while her family lived in Mexico. After moving to Flagstaff in 2020, she was an assistant coach for Flagstaff SC United (2012 U9 boys and 2007/08 U14 girls teams). Her time there included serving as interim head coach of the U14 girls team for the 2021 Yavapai Cup, which she won. In 2021, she was the head coach for the 2012 U10 boys team, leading them to their first-ever championship at the 2022 CCV Stars tournament.

Vanessa holds a USSF Grassroots license for 11v11 and 7v7, and is an ISSA Certified Youth Fitness Trainer. She currently coaches our 2012 Boys.



Jon grew up in Flagstaff and began playing at the age of 6 right here in Region 257 of AYSO. He's coached at various level of both club and recreational leagues for over seven years. His 2012 Boys won the 2022 Yavapai Cup. USSF Grassroots 7v7 License. His 2013 boys won the 2023 Ft. Lowell Shootout U10 Boys tournament.

He Currently coaches our 2013 Boys.



Coach Tony grew up in Indiana and played soccer from a very early age. He played soccer through high school, splitting duties between goalkeeper and midfield. Tony's favorite soccer memory is that DaMarcus Beasley (the only US man to play in four FIFA world cups) only scored one goal against him during a high school match. 

Tony is the Revolution goalkeeper coach and works to enhance the defense, with an emphasis on the "sweeper keeper" philosophy. 



Coach Roger Lohr grew up in Flagstaff and started coaching for the club in 2022.  He holds a US Soccer Grassroots 7V7 License and TOVO V1 Certification.

He currently coaches our 2013 Girls.

Coach Nick LaFave has been coaching club soccer since 2017 and has coached numerous sports at

recreational and competitive levels for 15 years. He holds USSF Grassroots 11v11, 9v9 and TOVO V1

certifications. His team has won the 2022 RSL Fort Lowell Shootout Tournament and the 2022 Arsenal

Challenge Tournament. He is focused on fun high level competitive soccer.

He currently coaches our 2009 girls.


Coach Jamie Turley grew up in Oregon and played soccer for 14 years, from the age of 4 and throughout high school. Her favorite soccer memories always included playing soccer in the Oregon rain and mud, but nothing compares to the current memories she is making on the field with her children. She has enjoyed coaching various ages of soccer since 2016. Her number one goal for the kids is to have fun while learning the wonderful sport of soccer and developing strong team bonds.  
She currently coaches our 2014 Girls.

James Yates joined the coaching staff for the 2013 boys team in 2023 after his family joined the club in 2021. Originally from the UK, James has loved soccer throughout his life, despite never playing competitively himself.  James had coached recreational teams for several seasons and decided to take the leap to join the Revolution staff this year after being impressed with the philosophy of the club and the dedication of the staff.  His 2013 Boys won the 2023 Ft. Lowell Shootout under Head Coach Jon Bordwell, an James led a team of 2012/3 Boys team to win 2022 Phoenix Rising New Year's Kickoff 5v5 tournament.
